Bear Mountain Park Adventure

Took the kids hiking at Bear Mountain Park yesterday and it turned out to be quite the adventure (both good and bad)!

The start of a great adventure.

We started on the Major Welch trail going up (.4 mile trail and 1.5 mile rock scramble).

Alexa was the bravest three year old on the mountain. She took a small spill in the beginning (stumbled over a root) and we thought the trip would be over before it even began. But she bravely continued on with us and once we started the rock scramble portion, she clambered up like a little monkey.

Max, however, ended up being the best climber out of all of us. He kept scrambling ahead, leaving us in the dust and then waiting for his old, out-of-shape parents to catch up.

Photo Essay: Boston Trip ’16

We just came back from our first family vacation with Max and Alexa. I think a little photo essay helps to capture our trip. It was exhausting but we all had a blast!

First pit stop on the way. Me: Spicy Cheetos. Max: Bag of nuts.

Poor Lexa was so tired she passed out while sitting up.

We found this awesome bedtime book to read to Max.

Union Square Donuts. Yum.

We rented a home through Airbnb. It was awesome because this family also had two children – an older son and younger daughter – so there were tons of toys for Max and Lexa to play with.

Max loved “playing” the piano while Lexa bopped up and down.

Photo Friday: Spring Is Here

This is one of my favorite photos of Alexa to date. She just looks so alert and aware and the newborn glaze is finally leaving her eyes. I think we may have reached a turning point for Alexa. She is a far happier baby these days. Then again – as with everything when it comes to babies – it might just be a phase.

New YouTube Channel

I’ve had a few people tell me I should set up a YouTube channel and start vlogging. (Apparently, it’s the way of the future.) The problem is, I’m a writer at heart. Not a performer. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly had to perform when I was on trial as a prosecutor. But that was after much preparation and practice and a loosely memorized script. It does not come naturally for me to do it on the fly.

Anyway, I did end up starting a YouTube channel (if you are on YouTube, subscribe to my channel here!) and the inaugural video is one of my all-time favorites of Max. Watching it never fails to bring me a smile and I hope others can enjoy it as well.

I don’t know if I might eventually start vlogging. It would certainly be out of my comfort zone. But, for now, it will just be a place where I can share some of my favorite family videos.
